Every AI-powered feature in Mavio consumes credits. Credits are a simple way to track and manage your AI usage across transcription, summaries, chat queries, diagram generation, and more. Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation, and you can purchase additional credit packs when you need more.

How credits work

Credits are deducted each time Mavio performs an AI operation on your behalf. Your credit balance refreshes at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month.
Credits are shared across all AI features. Whether you use them for transcription, summaries, or Mavio AI chat, they draw from the same pool.

Team plan credits are pooled across the workspace. A 10-seat team has 50,000 credits available for any member to use.

Purchasing credit packs

When you need more credits than your plan provides:

Navigate to credit settings

Go to Settings > Billing > AI Credits.

Choose a credit pack

Select from available packs:
  • 500 credits — $5
  • 2,000 credits — $18 (10% savings)
  • 5,000 credits — $40 (20% savings)
  • 10,000 credits — $70 (30% savings)

Confirm purchase

Credits are added to your balance immediately and are valid until used. Purchased credits do not expire.
Purchased credit packs do not expire and carry over between billing cycles. Only your monthly plan allocation resets.

Monitoring usage

Usage dashboard

View your credit consumption in Settings > Billing > AI Credits > Usage. The dashboard shows:
  • Current balance — remaining credits for this billing cycle
  • Usage trend — daily credit consumption over the past 30 days
  • Breakdown by feature — which AI features consume the most credits
  • Top consumers (Team and Enterprise) — usage per team member

Low credit alerts

Set up notifications when your credits run low:
  1. Go to Settings > Notifications > Credit alerts.
  2. Set a threshold (e.g., 20% remaining).
  3. Choose notification channels: in-app, email, or Slack.
When your balance drops below the threshold, Mavio sends an alert so you can purchase more credits or adjust usage.

Frequently asked questions

On the Free plan, AI features are paused until your credits reset next month. On paid plans, you can purchase credit packs immediately or wait for the monthly reset. Existing transcripts, summaries, and recordings remain accessible.
Monthly plan credits do not roll over. However, purchased credit packs never expire and carry over indefinitely.
Yes. Team admins can set per-member credit limits in Settings > Team > Credit allocation. When a member reaches their limit, they are prompted to request more from an admin.
No. Credits are consumed at the time of processing. Deleting a meeting does not refund the credits used for transcription or summary generation.
Transcription credits are based on audio duration (1 credit per minute). Summary and action item credits are flat rates regardless of meeting length.
