Mavio browser extension

The Mavio Chrome extension is here. Record any browser-based meeting or audio with a single click — no bot participant required.

How it works

1

Install the extension

Install from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your Mavio account.
2

Click to record

When you are in a Google Meet, Zoom Web, or Microsoft Teams meeting in your browser, click the Mavio extension icon and hit Record. The extension captures the tab’s audio directly.
3

Get your notes

After the meeting, your transcript, summary, and action items appear in the Mavio dashboard just like any other recording.

Key benefits over the meeting bot

  • No visible participant — the extension records from your browser tab, so no “Mavio Notetaker” joins the call
  • Works with any audio — record webinars, podcasts, YouTube videos, online courses, or any browser audio
  • Instant start — no waiting for a bot to join; recording begins immediately
  • Tab-specific capture — only records audio from the selected tab, not your entire system
The extension is ideal for organizations that restrict third-party bot participants in meetings. It captures the same audio quality without adding anyone to the call.

Media transcription

Upload any audio or video file to Mavio and get a full transcript with speaker identification and AI summary.

Supported formats

AudioVideo
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, WMAMP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM

How to use

  1. In the Mavio dashboard, click Upload media in the sidebar
  2. Drag and drop your file or click to browse (max file size: 2 GB)
  3. Mavio processes the file and delivers a transcript, summary, and action items
Processing time depends on file length — roughly one minute of processing per ten minutes of audio.
Media transcription supports the same 40+ languages as live meeting transcription. The language is auto-detected, or you can specify it during upload for better accuracy.

One-click capture

A new capture flow for ad-hoc recordings that skips all configuration:
  • From the dashboard — click Quick record and paste any meeting link. Mavio joins immediately.
  • From the extension — right-click any page with audio and select Record with Mavio.
  • From the desktop tray — click the Mavio tray icon and select Record system audio to start capturing instantly.

Additional improvements

  • Transcript search — full-text search across all your transcripts from the dashboard search bar
  • Bulk export — select multiple meetings and export them as a ZIP file containing transcripts, summaries, and action items in Markdown or PDF format
  • Improved Google Meet support — faster bot join times and improved audio capture quality
  • API rate limit increase — Pro plan API rate limits increased from 60 to 120 requests per minute
